Postcard

 For this project we were to create a postcard using InDesign. I chose to use images of Tampa because that is where I consider to be my home for now. Through my project, I’ve tried to capture the beauty and vibrancy of this city. I used Adobe InDesign to bring together a range of elements such as fonts, colours, and pictures that show the unique character of Tampa. I wanted to show how much I enjoy living here and how much I appreciate its culture and its people. It is my hope that this postcard will inspire others to explore the city through the photos i used

    I really like that you chose to do your postcard for the city of Tampa. I also think the way that you put the text on the front of the post card looks really cool.

 Artist Statement:  I wanted to base my calligram specifically off what is going on in my life right now as I am doing the project. Senior year of high school was a very low point for me, and I felt extremely grown out of my hometown and the people in it. As stated in my letter to my future self, moving to Tampa has changed my life. I feel like I have found myself and found a new home at the same time, and that is the absolute best feeling ever. I truly feel more at home here than I do when I go back to my hometown. While my past and childhood are extremely dear and important to me, I continue to view living here in Tampa as a new opportunity that generates excitement for me every single day to look forward to what things may come my way in the future. I feel like my calligram really represents this story and what it means to me. Seeing the image of the Tampa skyline and zooming in and seeing my words filling it in is really cool for me.  Letter to my future self: Dear future self,

  When assigned to place myself into a scene of a movie/show using adobe photoshop, this was almost an immediate and easy decision to do the show "Outer Banks" . I have always loved this show and felt very connected with the characters and their lifestyle in the movie because I have spent a lot of time throughout my life in the OBX. Placing myself into this scene felt natural for me because I am always happiest at the beach or by the water and with my friends and this is exactly the vibe of the scene shot that I used for this project.
