Photoshop HW 2

 Seeing a photo of people uniting for a common cause in "The People's Portfolio" is a powerful reminder of the strength of humanity and unity. It brings me close to my emotions because it reminds me of the importance of community and working together to achieve a shared goal. In today's society, there are so many things that people disagree on and it seems like that is all we see around us in the media, people clashing and not agreeing on anything so it seems like a big deal to see unity amongst a group of people. It also reminds me of the importance of caring for others, because when we come together, we can make a greater impact. It gives me a sense of hope and optimism for the future and fills me with a sense of purpose and belonging.

The photo of me skiing in Breckenridge Colorado is a moment I will always remember. The sun is shining and the snow is sparkling in the backdrop of the majestic Rocky Mountains. I distinctly remember the moment I took this photo because the background was so picturesque and I felt deeply connected to my natural surroundings, feeling the crisp winter air as the wind blew in my face. The surrounding beauty of the mountains, the evergreen trees and the fresh powdery snow, create a sense of peace and contentment within me. Even after seeing that view countless times, I am still blown away and in awe every time I see the beauty of nature out there.

 Artist Statement:  I wanted to base my calligram specifically off what is going on in my life right now as I am doing the project. Senior year of high school was a very low point for me, and I felt extremely grown out of my hometown and the people in it. As stated in my letter to my future self, moving to Tampa has changed my life. I feel like I have found myself and found a new home at the same time, and that is the absolute best feeling ever. I truly feel more at home here than I do when I go back to my hometown. While my past and childhood are extremely dear and important to me, I continue to view living here in Tampa as a new opportunity that generates excitement for me every single day to look forward to what things may come my way in the future. I feel like my calligram really represents this story and what it means to me. Seeing the image of the Tampa skyline and zooming in and seeing my words filling it in is really cool for me.  Letter to my future self: Dear future self,

  When assigned to place myself into a scene of a movie/show using adobe photoshop, this was almost an immediate and easy decision to do the show "Outer Banks" . I have always loved this show and felt very connected with the characters and their lifestyle in the movie because I have spent a lot of time throughout my life in the OBX. Placing myself into this scene felt natural for me because I am always happiest at the beach or by the water and with my friends and this is exactly the vibe of the scene shot that I used for this project.
