Propaganda Poster

 I chose this image (selfie) because it was taken during a very good time in my life and what is going on in the uncropped image is a great representation of who I am as a person. I also chose vaping because it is personal for me. I used to struggle with that and I had serious health affects as a result of vaping. I think when an artist can relate to their work, it makes the passion heightened and results in better work.

    You did a really great job with this project. The face illustration looks very realistic and its obvious you spent a lot of time on it. Its also great how personal you decided to make it. Great job!

 Artist Statement:  I wanted to base my calligram specifically off what is going on in my life right now as I am doing the project. Senior year of high school was a very low point for me, and I felt extremely grown out of my hometown and the people in it. As stated in my letter to my future self, moving to Tampa has changed my life. I feel like I have found myself and found a new home at the same time, and that is the absolute best feeling ever. I truly feel more at home here than I do when I go back to my hometown. While my past and childhood are extremely dear and important to me, I continue to view living here in Tampa as a new opportunity that generates excitement for me every single day to look forward to what things may come my way in the future.   When assigned to place myself into a scene of a movie/show using adobe photoshop, this was almost an immediate and easy decision to do the show "Outer Banks" . I have always loved this show and felt very connected with the characters and their lifestyle in the movie because I have spent a lot of time throughout my life in the OBX. Placing myself into this scene felt natural for me because I am always happiest at the beach or by the water and with my friends and this is exactly the vibe of the scene shot that I used for this project.
